This is how entrepreneurs will be trained in the LIF program
By Ruta N -With the aim of developing business skills and commercializing innovative solutions on a large scale, the Medellín Mayor's Office will train 12 entrepreneurs until February 16. These entrepreneurs will participate in the Leaders in Innovation Fellowships (LIF), organized by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) in partnership with Ruta N.
"Participation in this program reflects Medellín's commitment to promoting innovation and business development. This joint effort between the British Embassy, RAEng, Ruta N, and the District underscores the importance of international collaboration in driving innovation and entrepreneurship. These initiatives highlight the role of science and technology as sources of solutions for current challenges," stated Carolina Londoño Peláez, Executive Director of Ruta N.
The innovators will receive expert guidance, participate in activities to expand their professional networks, propose solutions to city challenges, and prepare proposals to take to the United Kingdom. They will also meet with UK Ambassador George Hodgson, who will visit Medellín to strengthen bilateral relations. The training will take place at the In Country Event, hosted at Ruta N and the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB). In June, the program will include stages of diagnosis, mentorship, and personalized follow-up. Over the last 10 years, 104 entrepreneurs have benefited from this program.
