What is Transformative Innovation?

By Ruta N -

Today’s global challenges—political, cultural, social, economic, and especially environmental—are immense. Humanity faces an urgent need to address issues like climate change, natural resource depletion, air and water pollution, deforestation, and the impacts of extensive agriculture and livestock practices.

We have a greater awareness of these issues, driven by access to knowledge, technology, and real-time information about global events. This understanding allows us to identify foundational needs for making substantial changes that benefit humanity and our relationship with the planet.

Transformative innovation aims to drive change within our social and technical systems through science, technology, and innovation, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This approach promotes new ways for humans to interact with and benefit from our surroundings, encouraging social, cultural, political, and economic transformations that prioritize sustainability.
