With the announcement of a $400 billion fund to strengthen high-impact startups and create new opportunities in science, technology, and innovation, Medellín concluded its participation in Startco 2024, the most significant startup ecosystem event in the region.

“For us, returning to Startco has been very rewarding; it’s an event that began in this city, and we’ve supported it throughout the years. We want Ruta N to once again embody that technical role, supporting entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem players to drive local development,” said Carolina Londoño, Executive Director of Ruta N.

Historically, 2,839 businesses in science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) have been strengthened and funded, with $139.754 billion raised. Seven emerging companies received financial support from the District for this event: Uptime Analytics, Glasst Innovation Company, Opalytica, EatCloud, Auco, Guane Enterprises, and Solenium. The last two are among the 30 most promising startups, according to Forbes Colombia.

This event, which will return to the capital of Antioquia in 2025, concluded with projected investments of over $2 million, 198 business opportunities, and the identification of four strategic allies to facilitate capital access for technology services. Additionally, connections were made with investment funds and potential alliances within the ST&I sector.
