150 Residents of Medellín Employed Thanks to Training in Science, Technology, and Innovation
Medellín is the first city in the country and in Latin America to implement a pilot technology training program, which graduated 222 people. Out of this group, 150 graduates have already secured jobs in science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) with 60 local companies. This initiative is a collaboration between the Medellín District, Ruta N, and Forte.

“We identified the needs of the labor market to develop talent and meet those needs. We forged a partnership that resulted in Medellín’s first project to rigorously manage technology training, redefining what it means to educate and employ people in the digital era,” stated Carolina Londoño, Executive Director of Ruta N.

This program is also present in Australia, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Colombia. It was made possible through Forte, a work model created by entrepreneur Nat Ware to train individuals in high-demand areas based on data insights.

Ruta N, the first public corporation dedicated to ST&I in Colombia, has attracted more than 480 technology-based organizations at both the international and national levels.
