Ruta N opens a call for 300 startups to prepare to receive tools for accessing capital
By Ruta N -These startups will receive artificial intelligence licenses, mentoring, among other benefits.
The Mayor’s Office of Medellín, through Ruta N, has opened the call for applications for the program “Investment Readiness for Startups,” an initiative that will offer 300 technology-based companies from Medellín and across Colombia the opportunity to strengthen their capabilities to access national and international capital. The program is part of the Medellín Venture Capital strategy and will be operated by the Niilo platform.
“In Medellín, there are real opportunities for science, technology, and innovation-driven businesses. With the ‘Investment Readiness for Startups’ program, we aim to ensure that selected companies are strengthened and truly prepared to close an investment round. In this way, the District and Ruta N address one of the ecosystem’s main challenges: closing structural readiness gaps in fundraising processes”, said Santiago Henao, Director of CTi Business Development at Ruta N.
The program will last up to six months and will be delivered virtually. It is aimed at legally incorporated startups with a scalable, technology-based model and a demonstrable presence and impact in Medellín, evidenced by sales, job creation, or commercial contracts with companies.

A total of 300 licenses will be awarded, each valued at $150, providing access to artificial intelligence tools. Additional benefits include hands-on training, specialized classes, mentoring, and access to resources to structure their investment round.
Applications will be open until February 26 on the website rutanmedellin.org. The list of companies selected for the first level will be notified by email on February 27. The program is free of charge, does not require equity participation, and does not create future financing obligations.
Startups with the strongest performance will advance to a second level, which includes an eight-week specialized virtual program in fundraising, an intensive in-person bootcamp in Medellín, and networking opportunities with investors.
Through initiatives like this, Ruta N strengthens startups’ capabilities and reinforces Medellín’s position as an ecosystem that facilitates access to capital, talent development, and business growth.
