Through training programs, partnerships, and learning platforms, Ruta N continues to strengthen talent capabilities in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in Medellín. Over the past year, 1,013 people successfully completed intensive training programs in various technologies through 13 bootcamps (both in-person and virtual), focused on areas such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), artificial intelligence, and 2D and 3D modeling, among others. In addition, training challenges, programming competitions, talent attraction strategies, and initiatives connecting participants with job opportunities were developed.

“These programs cover all stages of life: children, young people, adults, women, and people with disabilities. Through this commitment, we close social and economic gaps and ensure that no one is left behind in Medellín’s transformation. Technological education opens doors that change lives. The talent trained today will be the one that builds the Medellín of tomorrow,” said Carolina Salazar López, Director of Strategic Projects at Ruta N.

The technological skills training initiatives were supported by national and international partners such as Pix Robotics (Russia), CloudFactory (United Kingdom), SAP (Germany), Smart Talent, and Senatic (both from Colombia). In terms of employment opportunities, partnerships were established with the Public Employment Office (OPE), PeakU, Autonomic Mind, Magneto, among others.

Ruta N also strengthened global and local connections to boost employability and energize the technology ecosystem. As part of these efforts, 10,000 Google training licenses were granted to individuals over the age of 18 to receive virtual training in artificial intelligence and cloud computing for six months. Likewise, in partnership with Platzi, 6,000 licenses were provided, granting access to more than 800 courses in digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and web development.

These initiatives also include the training of more than 1,000 students in grades 9, 10, and 11 from public educational institutions in the District, focusing on digital skills with an emphasis on chatbots, data analysis, and web development. This process was carried out through EstudIA, a strategy led by Ruta N’s Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Secretariat of Education.

Overall, these training opportunities help drive the development of digital talent and close skills gaps in Medellín, responding to the growing demand for specialized profiles in emerging technologies.
