More than $100 million in support for young innovators: apply now to the Gen N and Proyector Awards

There’s still time to apply for the Proyector 2025 Awards, an initiative by Ruta N and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, through the Secretariat of Youth. This program aims to highlight youth-led projects that create a positive impact in their communities and drive innovation.

The call, open to young people between 14 and 28 years old, offers a fund of more than $100 million COP in incentives, scholarships, mentorship sessions with Ruta N, courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), and vouchers for tech products. Participants will also gain access to the Referentes Program by the Secretariat of Youth.

The awards are divided into five categories—two for collectives and three for individuals: Gen Crack (innovative mindset), Gen Next (entrepreneurs), Gen Alpha (leaders who inspire and mobilize others), Gen Panas (social innovation), and Gen Ecos (advocates for sustainable practices). Interested participants can review the requirements and application process at rutanmedellin.org.

Finalists will be chosen by public online voting, and a panel of expert judges will select the winners, who will be announced on December 6 during the Gen N Festival—an event expected to gather more than 6,000 young people at the Ruta N complex and its surroundings to enjoy technological and immersive experiences, live music, gastronomy, and interactive activities.

The Gen N Festival will be the ultimate celebration of Medellín’s young talent—a space to recognize, inspire, and project those who illuminate the District of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
