CUEE: more than 1.500 people have contributed ideas to boost employment, entrepreneurship and investment in Medellín

Business leaders, students, entrepreneurs, academics, and public sector representatives worked on strategic agendas for the region during the first half of the year through the University-Enterprise-State Committee.

Thanks to a strategic alliance supported by the District Administration and Ruta N, the Antioquia University-Enterprise-State Committee (CUEE) brought together more than 1,500 stakeholders from the science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship ecosystem during the first half of 2026 through its plenary sessions, thematic working groups, and collaborative spaces.

Business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, students, public sector representatives, and academic leaders participated in these meetings aimed at fostering the socioeconomic development of the region.

"We are inspired to see how CUEE continues to consolidate itself as a space where ideas become opportunities and the region’s capabilities connect to generate development. Our challenge is to continue strengthening these connections so that more young people, entrepreneurs, and researchers can find pathways to transform their ideas into real impact, and so that knowledge continues to be the driving force behind the future of Medellín and Antioquia," said Carolina Londoño, Executive Director of Ruta N.

Between February and May, dialogue and collaborative work activities were carried out around five key themes: international cooperation and investment for territorial development; innovative entrepreneurship; financing and investment; human talent and employability; and platforms for ecosystem collaboration.

The plenary sessions brought together leaders and representatives from national and international organizations such as OffCorss, Kerry, NTT Data, Sapiencia, ACI Medellín, Vertical Partners, and ANDI Antioquia Chapter, among others.

"When we bring together knowledge, experience, and capabilities, we can drive projects that transform and generate development for our region. These spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and trust allow us to move from ideas to action. CUEE invites us to work as a network, combine strengths, and make things happen," said Yanet Londoño, President of OffCorss.

One of the main achievements of the semester was the participation of more than 1,200 students in the Internships with Purpose initiative, a program designed to strengthen the connection between higher education and the labor market. The initiative included the participation of 47 companies, 9 universities, SENA, and CESDE.

Meanwhile, the working groups advanced actions to strengthen entrepreneurship. Among the key achievements was the development of nine investment training sessions involving more than 200 ecosystem stakeholders.

"The Entrepreneurship Working Group made progress in strengthening entrepreneurship and access to financing through nine investment training sessions for more than 200 ecosystem stakeholders, as well as a program that will assess 30 entrepreneurship support organizations, of which 20 will receive specialized guidance," explained María Fernanda Galeano, Secretary of Economic Development.

With more than two decades of experience, CUEE continues to consolidate its position as one of Antioquia’s leading collaboration platforms connecting universities, businesses, government institutions, and strategic stakeholders. This reinforces its role as a key coordinator of initiatives aimed at promoting socioeconomic development based on knowledge and innovation. The next plenary session will take place on July 31 at 7:30 a.m. in the Ruta N Auditorium.
