The program brought together 10 Colombian startups and 7 Swiss startups, as well as researchers and technology-based entrepreneurs.

The Swiss Leading House for Latin America of the Embassy of Switzerland and ICETEX, through the Academia-Industry Training (AIT) program, awarded COP 40 million in financial support to the Colombian startup Dogma Biotech during the international mission Colombia Camp 2026, which concluded with a pitch session held at Ruta N.

This initiative aims to accelerate the transfer of scientific knowledge to the market and strengthen cooperation among innovation ecosystems worldwide. The program received strategic support from Ruta N, in partnership with the Medellín Agency for Cooperation and Investment and the Metropolitan Area (ACI Medellín) and the Tecnnova Corporation, as key ecosystem-articulating entities in Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.

“Strategies such as Colombia Camp 2026, where real connections are made, position the District as a high-impact global hub. At Ruta N, we support the growth of technology-based companies so they can scale from Medellín to the rest of the world, because innovation is also about generating wealth and distributing it more equitably”, said Carolina Londoño, Executive Director of Ruta N.

The program included the participation of 10 Colombian startups—among them two from Medellín, Copsun and Agro Data, both part of Ruta N programs—as well as 7 Swiss startups, in addition to researchers, scientists, and technology-based entrepreneurs. The goal was to transform scientific knowledge into business solutions with global impact.

“These types of international visits are fundamental for Medellín, as they allow us to showcase—directly from the territory and through close engagement with our stakeholders—the strength and maturity of our Science, Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship ecosystem”, said Cristina Zambrano Restrepo, Executive Director of the Medellín Agency for Cooperation and Investment and the Metropolitan Area (ACI Medellín).

The first phase of the mission took place in Switzerland from December 8 to 12, 2025, with an agenda focused on applied innovation, business models, and connections with European industry. Subsequently, from February 2 to 6 of this year, the camp was held in Bogotá and Medellín, including visits to universities, corporate groups, innovation hubs, networking spaces, specialized workshops, and meetings with key ecosystem stakeholders.

The Medellín gathering reflected a high-level multisectoral articulation, bringing together universities, research centers, investment agencies, venture capital funds, and entrepreneurship organizations. This integration strengthens ecosystem governance and positions the District as a meeting point for scientific cooperation, investment, and business scaling.

“This experience has allowed us to expand our connections, especially with the pharmaceutical sector in Switzerland, and to build new relationships in Medellín. With this award, we will expand our portfolio to create new opportunities”, said Javier Alméciga, co-founder of Dogma Biotech.

In addition to the incentive awarded to the Colombian startup, the program granted CHF 10,000 to the Swiss project Voltiris, with the aim of boosting its technological development and strengthening its business model.

Through this initiative, Ruta N reaffirms its commitment to the internationalization of talent, the strengthening of high-impact startups, and the construction of effective bridges between science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, positioning Medellín as a global benchmark for innovation.
