FutuMed is the place where Medellin tests the future of the city.
We are launching this area to test and experiment the technological solutions that companies, universities and research groups want to validate to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Medellin.
If you have a technology related to (sustainable) mobility, smart utilities, (sustainable) infrastructure and circular economy, this is the time to test it in FutuMed in arealenvironment and controlled, with the support of Ruta N.

Requirements for technological solutions:
1
To be a legal entity incorporated one year or more ago.
2
The solution should focus on one of the 4 strategic areas (mobility, public services, infrastructure and circular economy).
3
Have a technology maturity level (TRL) between 4 and 6.
4
Demonstrate measurable impact.
5
Generate evidence to facilitate scaling or replicability.
Phases ofthe FutuMedexperimentationcall .
We tell you how the processwill be step by step :
Phase 1: Identification
It all begins with the identification phase, in which we make an open call so that the actors that have technologies ready to be experimented can postulate their proposals through our web page. During this stage, we attend to and resolve any doubts that may arise, and receive applications from those who wish to participate. Subsequently, we carefully review the documentation submitted and pre-select the solutions that meet the established requirements, thus forming a bank of eligible technologies to advance to the next phases of the process.
Phase 2: Readiness
If your proposal is pre-selected, you will move on to the readiness phase. At this point you will receive methodological support, workshops and personalized advice to design your experiment, adjust the budget and define the social appropriation strategy. At the end, you will have to present a detailed experimentation plan.
Phase 3: Accompaniment
Then comes the formalization. If your plan is selected, you must submit the required documentation to access all the support and resources available in the call for proposals, and sign the initiation agreement. Thus, you will be ready to begin the execution of your experiment and take advantage of specialized support, access to experimentation environments and visibility in the city's innovation ecosystem.
Phase 4: Execution
In the execution phase you will have up to three months to develop your experiment in the field, always with the accompaniment of an expert assigned by Ruta N, who will support you throughout the process.
Phase 5: Closing
Finally, we come to the closing: once the experimentation is over, you will receive feedback on the results, lessons learned and best practices. In addition, your solution will be made visible to experts and actors of the science, technology and innovation ecosystem of Medellín.

Govtech: Technology that puts government at the service of people
The smartest cities in the world are not born by chance: they are built with long-term vision, data and technology at the service of people. Cities such as Singapore with its Smart Nation program, Kiev with its Global Govtech Center and Estonia with its online public services system that generated savings of up to 2% of GDP per year are examples of this.

Govtech Projects

Citizen 360
Led by the Digital Innovation Secretariat of the Mayor's Office of Medellin and Ruta N, it seeks to offer more agile, closer and personalized responses, eliminating duplication and anticipating needs through data analytics and artificial intelligence.
What it seeks:
- Centralize citizen information: Integrate dispersed data into a unified model that facilitates public management.
- Optimize attention: Implement tools such as a virtual assistant and a procedures platform to offer faster and more coherent services.
- Anticipate needs: Use advanced analytics to design proactive services aligned with the reality of the territory.
- Reduce duplication: Avoid inefficiencies and gaps in service coverage.
- Ensure security and trust: Comply with data protection regulations and strengthen the long-term relationship with citizens.

DAP
Led by the DAP (Administrative Department of Planning of Medellin) and Ruta N, this project strengthens the management of information of the Land Management Plan (POT) through technological tools and data analytics. Its objective is to ensure reliable, accessible and integrated territorial information for more efficient, transparent and participatory strategic planning.
It seeks to:
- Generate strategic information: Analyze international benchmarks, identify trends and develop innovative guidelines for territorial planning.
- Manage and unify data: Integrate alphanumeric and cartographic bases in the District Data Lake under quality standards.
- Leverage data for decision making: Create dashboards and predictive models that anticipate urban and rural trends and needs.
- Optimize investments and public policies: Base planning on evidence to balance social, environmental and economic development.
- Strengthen capacities: Train DAP staff to ensure sustainability and effective use of tools.

DAGRD
What it seeks:
- Integrate monitoring systems: Unify fragmented platforms to have timely, reliable and geo-referenced information.
- Develop proprietary technology: Design and manufacture prototypes of sensors and data concentrators adapted to the territory.
- Test and validate in the field: Evaluate the performance of the devices in real conditions to ensure their effectiveness.
- Create a digital twin: Simulate and analyze in real time the behavior of the variables measured in risk areas.
- Promote social appropriation: Train communities and technicians in risk management and use of the new tools.
- Optimize decisions: Use high-precision data to anticipate and respond to natural hazards.

FutuMed
The District's first Special Treatment Zone, FutuMed is an urban laboratory where Medellín tests, validates and scales technologies in real conditions. Led by Ruta N, it drives the technological sophistication of the territory, attracts investment and generates economic and social impact, turning the city into a global benchmark for applied innovation.
What it seeks:
- Experiment in real conditions: test and validate technological solutions directly in the city to measure their impact and viability.
- Promote R&D&I projects: Finance initiatives that respond to Medellin's strategic challenges through the CTI Fund.
- Strengthen the academia-business connection: Through the G8+ Call for Proposals, promote inter-institutional alliances to develop high-impact technologies.
- Facilitate open experimentation: Provide spaces and mechanisms for startups and companies to test smart city technologies.
- Implement solutions in the territory: Deploy proven technologies to solve city challenges and scale their impact.
- Strengthen the DeepTech ecosystem: Attract investment and talent through the DeepTech Alliance, positioning Medellin as a node of advanced technologies.

District Challenges
What you are looking for:
- Prioritize strategic challenges: Based on data and evidence to focus resources on the most critical challenges.
- Connect key actors: Articulate companies, universities, public entities and citizens in co-creation processes.
- Generate high-value solutions: Design and implement innovative projects that improve quality of life.
- Scale the most effective solutions: Replicate and implement the projects that demonstrate the greatest impact.
