The Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2024, published by StartupBlink, where Ruta N participates as a Partner, highlights Colombia's accelerated growth as a regional leader in Latin America and the Caribbean. The country now ranks second in LATAM, surpassing Chile and Mexico, and continues its global rise by reaching the 38th position, up from 47th in 2021.

This growth not only reinforces the potential of the Colombian entrepreneurial ecosystem but also positions its cities as key players in regional and global innovation.

Medellín: A Global Innovation Hub in Colombia

Medellín, one of the leading cities in this progress, has shown remarkable consolidation on a global scale, ranking as the seventh-best city for startups in LATAM. Renowned for its adaptability and leadership in strategic sectors, the city entered the global top 100 in Foodtech, achieving an impressive leap of 22 positions.

Moreover, Medellín maintains its position as the second-largest Proptech ecosystem in the region, strengthening its ability to attract talent, investment, and development in key industries.

Ruta N, as a strategic ally of the ecosystem, has been a fundamental pillar in this growth. Its focus on promoting science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, along with hosting the World Economic Forum’s Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), continues to solidify Medellín as a global hub.
