"If they don’t ask for it, teach them": Patricia Sáenz

By Ruta N -
Una mujer de cabello rubio, vestida con una chaqueta clara sobre una camiseta oscura, habla en un ambiente interior con paredes de ladrillo y una iluminación cálida.

When Patricia Sáenz took charge of her second venture capital fund, she recognized herself as the only woman in a decision-making position in her field. This, combined with the fact that less than 2% of venture capital goes to women entrepreneurs, led her to create EWA. This fund includes investment criteria such as requiring at least 30% female representation in leadership roles and currently supports startups like Merqueo and Platzi.

Today, Patricia is one of the most recognized names in Latin America's investment ecosystem. During her visit to Ruta N’s Demoday, she shared how, as the director of one of the three gender-focused funds in the region, she is helping increase the number of women entrepreneurs in technology.
