On October 4th, Medellín’s tech communities gathered with leaders from the IT sector at Ruta N's facilities. The latest Open House event welcomed prominent tech community leaders to highlight their essential role in generating new talent for the city’s thriving software industry. These monthly Open House events provide a space for knowledge sharing, networking, and connecting IT companies, talent, and tech communities in Medellín.

Key figures from the city’s science, technology, and innovation ecosystem attended, including Frank Betancourt (MedellínJS), Marian Villa (Pioneras Dev), María de los Ángeles Espinel Montero (Google Developer Group Medellín), Liliana Franco (Women Who Code Medellín), John Howard (Softserve), and Dave Barr (Gorilla Logic). They shared insights on the importance of tech communities in talent development within the software industry.

A central message was that learning in tech is a collaborative effort, with tech communities acting as a critical foundation for people to advance collectively and effectively. These communities are free, making them accessible to everyone regardless of experience level.

The Open House offered valuable opportunities for those interested in tech to learn about Medellín’s tech communities and join them to progress in their careers. The event also connected participants with major ecosystem companies like Gorilla Logic and Softserve, providing updates on the latest technologies and their application in various projects.

Ruta N continues to serve as a hub for Medellín’s tech communities to work together on innovative projects. Its dedication to tech development and talent promotion in the city remains a cornerstone of Medellín’s success as the nation’s sole Science, Technology, and Innovation District.
