Ruta N trained 150 potential investors to strengthen Medellín’s venture capital ecosystem
By Ruta N -After participating in Ruta N’s specialized programs in 2025—aimed at strengthening local capabilities to mobilize capital and energize innovative entrepreneurship—150 potential investors, including angel investors, business leaders, families, and traditional market actors, were trained to continue generating opportunities within the District’s investment ecosystem and to seek active participation in the Venture Capital (VC) ecosystem.
The training offer included a specialized agenda focused on Venture Capital, featuring two hybrid programs, the first Hybrid Diploma Program in Venture Capital, an intensive bootcamp, and webinars led by industry experts.
“With initiatives like this, we are consolidating an articulated ecosystem capable of turning knowledge into employment, investment, and real economic development, because every new investor opens a door for transformative ideas and creates pathways for more local ideas to become real companies. Investors are a driving force that accelerates innovation and energizes the District’s economy. When confidence in talent grows, opportunities for the entire city grow as well,” said Santiago Henao, Director of CTI Business Development at Ruta N.
As a result of these training efforts, Medellín’s venture capital investor community is now broader and better prepared to connect with the District’s investment opportunities.
The past year was also marked by strengthened international connections within global venture capital arenas. Participation in LAVCA Week in New York—one of the most relevant events in the industry—helped consolidate relationships with multilateral funds, global entities, and hubs that bring together companies, startups, and entrepreneurs with the aim of collaborating, exchanging knowledge, generating synergies, and fostering innovation. These actors recognize Medellín as a leading investment destination in Latin America.
During this event, meetings were held with more than 30 international funds to explore and identify investment opportunities within the Science, Technology, and Innovation ecosystem.
The combination of a growing investor community and a strategic presence in global markets positions Medellín as one of the region’s most dynamic emerging hubs. For this reason, Ruta N continues working to strengthen the local ecosystem so it can grow, compete, and connect with the rest of the world.
