The call for applications for the third cohort of the Medellín Next program is aimed at legally incorporated startups in the city.

Ruta N has opened applications for the third cohort of Medellín Next, one of the District’s flagship initiatives to strengthen high-impact entrepreneurship. The program aims to support up to 50 startups with strong growth and scalability potential. It is designed for companies legally incorporated in Medellín that have a technology-based business model, validated market demand, proven commercial traction, and a vision for national and international expansion.

For this new edition, 20 companies will be selected in the Emerging category (with annual revenues between COP 100 million and COP 799 million) and 30 in the Advanced category (with annual revenues exceeding COP 800 million). The call will also place a special focus on DeepTech startups, companies developing solutions based on advanced scientific, technological, or engineering breakthroughs.

"Startups are a fundamental driving force behind Medellín’s development. When they have access to the right tools, connections, and support, they can grow faster, create high-quality jobs, and bring their solutions to new markets. Through initiatives like Medellín Next, we strengthen Medellín’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and reinforce the city’s position as a globally connected District of Science, Technology, and Innovation," said Ruta N Executive Director Carolina Londoño.

Participating companies will receive specialized support tailored to their stage of development. Advanced startups will take part in an acceleration process led by Ruta N and the international organization Endeavor, focused on scaling, global expansion, and investment readiness. Applications will remain open until July 24 at rutanmedellin.org.

Since its launch in 2025, Medellín Next has established itself as one of the District’s flagship programs for strengthening the city’s emerging business ecosystem. Through its first two cohorts, the program has supported more than 70 companies. Of these, 82% reported significant improvements after participating, including increased sales, product and service enhancements, strategic partnerships, stronger market positioning, and access to investment. In addition, 67% expanded into new markets—including Spain, Ecuador, Chile, Panama, Argentina, and Georgia—70% established relevant partnerships with companies, corporations, or institutions, and 38% created new jobs.

"When you're surrounded by so much excellence, the only option is to grow. Every activity was carefully designed, and as they are implemented, the results become evident. Ruta N is a highly respected institution in our ecosystem, and because of that, it opens countless doors," said Simón Moreno, CEO of Intrena, one of the startups that participated in the program’s second cohort.

With this new Medellín Next call for applications, Ruta N continues creating the conditions for local startups to accelerate their growth, expand their impact, and access new business opportunities, contributing to economic and social development, the creation of high-quality employment, and the consolidation of the District as a leading innovation hub in Latin America and around the world.
