Ana María Moreno Gómez takes over as Director of C4IR Medellín.
In 2026, Medellín’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) expanded access to technology and financial training. Through its partnership with Google, the Centre helped nearly 30,000 people access artificial intelligence content over the past year. Meanwhile, its EstudIA program trained 1,155 students from four educational institutions. In addition, more than 5,000 people registered for Finanzas Prácticas, an initiative developed in partnership with multinational company Visa.
The Centre also strengthened international cooperation in artificial intelligence, open data, and GovTech solutions through exchanges with the centres in Kyiv, Malaysia, and Berlin. Three local initiatives joined the GovTech Intelligence Hub, while Medellín made progress in community-based water management through the Pioneering Places initiative. In the business sector, Quipu, a company operating in Medellín, was selected for the World Economic Forum’s MINDS and Technology Pioneers 2026 programs.
Against this backdrop, Ana María Moreno Gómez takes over as Director of C4IR Medellín, bringing more than 20 years of experience in strategy, innovation, and organizational transformation. Her career includes leadership positions at several public- and private-sector organizations. She holds a degree in Administrative Engineering from Universidad EIA, a specialization in International Marketing from EAFIT University, and a master’s degree in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago. Her experience will help strengthen C4IR Medellín’s connections with international networks and advance technological solutions to address the city’s challenges.
