Medellín was recognized by StartupBlink as the fastest-growing startup ecosystem in Colombia in 2025, an acknowledgment announced during the third edition of the Startup Ecosystem Awards that confirms the District’s innovative momentum and the key role of Ruta N in its evolution.
The award highlights the city’s progress as an epicenter of Science, Technology, and Innovation, driven by initiatives such as Medellín Venture Capital and FutuMed. For Carolina Londoño, Executive Director of Ruta N, this achievement reflects the city’s commitment to a coordinated ecosystem and focus on people.
StartupBlink’s methodology evaluates more than 40 indicators and places Medellín with growth of over 41% in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index, consolidating it as the fastest-expanding ecosystem in the country and a leading technology hub in Latin America.
This recognition adds to the one received in 2024 for the best ecosystem growth over two years in South America, reaffirming Medellín’s strength in sectors such as energy, environment, food, transportation and proptech, where it continues to position itself as one of the most vibrant innovation environments on the continent.
