Medellín once again became an international hub for cooperation and innovation with the visit of ten experts, invited by the World Economic Forum and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, from organizations such as Visa, Salesforce, HP, ServiceNow, GovTech Latam, and the Government of Canada. The city also hosted a World Economic Forum delegation led by Kelly Ommundsen, Director of Digital Inclusion, who highlighted Medellín’s potential to advance the strategic use of data and strengthen technology adoption among citizens.

During their stay, the delegates met with the Mayor, took part in a city tour to experience firsthand Medellín’s urban and digital transformation process, and participated in Med360 – An Intelligent Territory for People, an event that brought together more than 30 experts to discuss technological solutions applied to urban development. They also joined a co-branded segment led by C4IR Medellín and the World Economic Forum, focused on how AI, data, innovation and emerging technologies are becoming strategic priorities for governments and companies to deliver more transparent, efficient and people-centered services.

Catalina Restrepo Carvajal, Director of the Medellín Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, emphasized that the visit enabled the exchange of valuable experiences on how technology can enhance quality of life: “Opportunities like this allow us to learn from global best practices, so that the efforts we are making in the public sector can be complemented by the private sector and shared with the world, showcasing the best Medellín has to offer.”
