An initiative that starts in Medellín’s classrooms is now part of an international selection. **Generación Tech**, a program led by Ruta N, was selected among the 10 finalists of the IASP Inspiring Solutions 2026, an initiative of the **International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP)** that recognizes and showcases experiences with the potential to inspire and drive transformation within science, technology, and innovation ecosystems.
The selection recognizes the work carried out by Generación Tech in basic education to foster early interest in science, technology, and innovation and contribute to strengthening Medellín’s innovation ecosystem. The program promotes STEAM skills —science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—, scientific thinking, and the ability of students and teachers to address challenges in their communities through technology and innovation.
This recognition reflects a program that continues to grow and generate impact in Medellín. In 2026, Generación Tech has reached more than 6,000 students and 600 teachers across 208 educational institutions, with a presence in 16 districts and 5 rural townships across the city.
