The third edition of this event will take place on August 18 and 19 at Plaza Mayor. Twenty percent of ticket revenue will be donated to the victims.

Medellín will host the third consecutive edition of Conexión Summit, an event that brings together more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, 120 major companies, nearly 80 corporate presidents, CEOs and C-level leaders from some of the country’s leading companies, as well as investors, representatives from academia and public institutions.

Following the recent earthquake, the business event has decided to donate 20% of ticket sales to Corporación Presentes, an organization that works on initiatives to support and accompany communities. In addition, a booth will be available at the event for attendees who wish to make in-person donations.

"Medellín is a city that knows how to rise above adversity, and this week at Conexión Summit, we are joining together with the Mayor’s Office of Medellín to support all those affected by the earthquake. The event will donate part of its revenue, as well as proceeds from the sale of works of art. This is very important because these are the actions that allow us to move forward as a country. In addition, from the District, we are joining with our entrepreneurs, supported through the Entrepreneurship Route, so they can do business and build connections that continue to drive the local ecosystem," said María Fernanda Galeano Rojo, Secretary of Economic Development.

The event began with a purpose that goes beyond business: solidarity within the business community will be present throughout the two-day gathering.

"We have three ways of getting involved. We did so through an agreement with Presentes and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín. We will have a Presentes booth where we will receive all kinds of donations. Twenty percent of ticket sales will be donated to all those affected and impacted by the earthquake. And additionally, as you can see, Conexión is a space filled with art and culture, and 100% of the artists who gave us their works donated them. We will hold a sale, and those proceeds will also be donated to the people who need them most today," said Ana Osorio, CEO of Conexión Summit.

For this edition, the event expects to generate more than 10,000 interactions, 10,000 connection requests and at least 5,000 business meetings through a one-on-one conversation format between senior executives and entrepreneurs, focused on solutions to specific organizational challenges.

Nearly 70 ecosystem stakeholders, including entrepreneurs and investors from Ruta N’s Medellín Next and Niilo programs, investment agents such as Lanchmon, as well as participants in the Entrepreneurship Route, will attend the event to generate growth and investment opportunities for their businesses. Likewise, Conexión Summit attendees will be able to learn about the entrepreneurship and innovation offerings through booths from the two organizations.

"At Ruta N, we support and celebrate these types of events because the data shows that Medellín is one of the cities in Latin America where communities working on high-impact entrepreneurship are most active. This means we are seeing a strong response to all the initiatives we are developing as a city. Conexión Summit confirms this. According to the StartIA platform, we currently have 740 active startups," said Carolina Londoño, Executive Director of Ruta N.

The Conexión Summit agenda will feature leaders who have participated in transformation processes across sectors such as entertainment, aviation, retail, banking, education, technology, financial services and the social economy. The event demonstrates that development accelerates when the corporate sector listens to and collaborates with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
