Medellín strengthens its leadership in the Fourth Industrial Revolution with the release of the 2025 C4IR Medellín Articulation Report, which highlights how the city is translating the World Economic Forum’s global vision into local action with tangible impact for citizens. Through strategic partnerships, responsible use of artificial intelligence and a strong focus on talent development, innovation has become a driver of human-centered growth.
Throughout 2025, C4IR Medellín reinforced its role as a bridge between the local ecosystem and the World Economic Forum’s Global Network of Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This work positioned the city in key international forums, advanced globally recognized GovTech projects, and connected Medellín to peer-learning networks with leading cities in digital and urban transformation.
The report also underscores significant progress in talent development, with thousands of citizens trained in digital skills and artificial intelligence, as well as targeted programs preparing young people for the future of work. Artificial intelligence stands out as a cross-cutting pillar that strengthens the Centre’s three core areas: education, urban transformation and GovTech.
Finally, the report confirms that Medellín’s innovation agenda is not about technology alone, but about improving lives, strengthening institutions and closing social gaps. As the only C4IR in Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world, C4IR Medellín positions the city as a living lab for public innovation, proving that the digital future is built with purpose, collaboration and a deeply human vision.
